Field Day

Just received these photos from Mrs. Moore. They are from Valentine's Day. Who knew we had so much fun? Try http://www.kodakgallery.com/MyGallery.jsp? for the rest. (If that doesn't work, email me for an invitation.)
Field Day was great today. A little hot, but this class is amazing. I had no idea how fast, athletic, and talented they are. They earned 6 first place ribbons, 4 second place ribbons, 1 third place ribbon, the overall championship, showed great teamwork and demonstrated their sportsmanship by cheering for everyone! I have had lots of great classes, but this one certainly ranks among the best!

"P" Day

Right now, we're in the computer lab at mrnussbaum.com creating pizzas for customers in Tony Fraction's Pizza Game. Patrick likes this site better than math.rice.edu/~lanius/fractions/index.html.
This morning each group of students invented its own flavor of punch, illustrated a poster to sell its beverage, and created a commercial to persuade the remainder of the class to buy their favorite flavor. Our new drinks included Limon Surprise, Orange and Cherry Eruption, Tropical Lemonade, Best Thing Ever, and Lemorange.
"It was awesome!"~Briana.

COSI was fun and educational according to Andrew and others who visited COSI and the Statehouse on Thursday.

Getting Ready

Tomorrow 44 students go to Washington D.C. Those who are left will be spending time with food. Wednesday is ice cream day, Thursday, is Columbus day, and Friday is "P" day-pizza, punch popsicles-who knows what else the day might bring. Next Wednesday is our Field Day and Rocket Club party. Lots going on this time of year!
